In this week’s episode, ‘Supervision and Private Practice with Motivo‘, we discuss:
Rachel McCrickard of Motivo
Rachel McCrickard is a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist and Founder and CEO of Motivo, an online platform connecting mental health professionals to clinical supervisors. Rachel’s clinical background as a LMFT and AAMFT Approved Supervisor caused her to recognize the difficulty many therapists experience when attempting to find quality clinical supervision. Impassioned by her inherent entrepreneurial spirit, Rachel fostered the creation of the first HIPAA-compliant platform for connecting pre-licensed therapists to clinical supervisors.
A graduate of Azusa Pacific University, Rachel spent the early years of her career providing therapy to chronically homeless individuals in the Skid Row district of Los Angeles, CA. In 2011, Rachel returned to her hometown of Chattanooga, TN where she began working at a large community mental health agency. In 2017, Rachel established Motivo and is now blazing a new trail within the profession for easy access to clinical supervision. Learn more about Motivo at www.wearemotivo.com. Rachel can be reached via email at rachel@wearemotivo.com.

Hello,
I would like to discuss obtaining MFT supervision hours on line.
Thank you

Just make sure you read your state’s Regs before you move forward, because the responsibility is on you to know the rules. In the end, Motivo has their own business in mind and if anything is problematic with the hours, you’re the one out of luck. For example, the info they give is incorrect (like in NYS Social workers can’t pay for Supervision, but their site lists NY as an option, and the answer from customer support is very vague and shady). So just make sure you’ve done your own due Diligence and don’t trust any for-profit business to have your interest in mind.
